Jonathan Zsofi is a distinguished New Zealand-born Film Festival Producer and Director who is renowned for his leadership of the Paris-based CINÉCINÉ film festival network.
This prestigious network, exclusively hosted on FilmFreeway and certified by IMDb, showcases the work of both emerging talents and established professionals. CINÉCINÉ festivals span the globe, with screenings in major cultural hubs including Paris, Bordeaux, Marseille, London, Toronto, Edmonton, Bogotá, Los Angeles, Auckland, Melbourne, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and online.
Zsofi holds an honours degree in Film Direction and Visual Communication.
His career has seen him traverse the USA, New Zealand, Australia, and the Middle East, where he developed a dynamic film company, THE ZIGGURAT. In his varied roles as Director, Producer, and Assistant Director, he has contributed to numerous short films, TV shows and commercials. He has collaborated with prestigious names like Ridley Scott’s RSA Films, Robert Stromberg, Baltasar Kormákur, Lucy Lawless, and Kathryn Burnett.
He’s worked on world famous franchises such as MASTER CHEF, THE TRAITORS, POWER RANGERS and is currently working on an Untitled NETFLIX project.

In addition to his production work, Jonathan has imparted his expertise in film production in Film Schools throughout the Middle East and Asia-Pacific, mentoring and technically producing many hundreds of projects by rising stars in the film world. He continues to collaborate with universities and film schools, enhancing their programs and fostering stronger connections between students and the film industry.
He now coaches internationally for SCREENCRAFTS in both film production and film festival strategy. Zsofi has recently penned his insider’s guide to the film festival circuit with the release of ‘The Film Festival Playbook’ and ‘The Film Festival Cheat Sheet’ translated into 8 langauges.
Having garnered over 100 awards for his directed narrative works (Hadir and the Deep (2014), Te Makutu, The Curse (2016) Blood of Jerusalem (2018), Jonathan has firmly established himself on the film festival circuit.
His initial foray into festival organisation began in Edmonton, Canada with the very first CINEVERSE, which is now a global franchise showcasing new Short Films, Features and Screenplays to thousands of audiences worldwide. He now operates primarily out of Paris, France, and Melbourne, Australia, seamlessly managing his international endeavours from these two formidable and diverse cities.
